George Roby Handcrafted Decorative Plate
This handmade pottery piece was expertly studio crafted using the "Raku" firing technique by master potter, George Roby. This hand-turned decorative plate is glazed a stunning matte dark gray with splashes of burnt orange. Initialed "GR" on the bottom of the piece (please see photos for details).
Provenance: Acquired from the personal collection of George Roby - George Roby was a potter and sculptor with works featured in the collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Everson Museum, Butler Institute of American Art, the Columbus Museum of Fine Art, and the Ohio Craft Museum.
