George Roby Matte Black and Dark Brown Bowl

This handmade pottery piece was expertly studio crafted using the "Raku" firing technique by master potter, George Roby. This stunning bowl has a beautiful variated matte black and dark brown glaze that almost looks like a watercolor painting. Initialed "GR" on the bottom of the piece.

Provenance: Acquired from the personal collection of George Roby - George Roby was a potter and sculptor with works featured in the collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Everson Museum, Butler Institute of American Art, the Columbus Museum of Fine Art, and the Ohio Craft Museum.
