Hans Brattrud for Hove Mobler "Scandia" Senior Chairs - Set of 4

A rare set of four high back “Scandia” senior chairs designed by Hans Brattrud for Hove Mobler. A beautiful example of fine Scandinavian Modern craftsmanship, designed in 1957 and produced in 1965, this is one of the most unique designs to come from the Mid Century Scandinavian era. In 1967 the “Scandia” stackable chair was awarded a gold medal at the International arts and crafts fair in Munich. The same year it also received the Award for Design Excellence by the Norwegian Design Council.

Most of the “Scandia” chairs were produced as the low-back version under the moniker “junior” but this set of four is the rare “Senior” version that is in the highback shape which showcases a flawless ergonomic design and offers maximum comfort. Timeless design and minimalist shapes combine to create an ultra comfortable chair. This set of four chairs has been well kept and retain their original finish. The color of the teak has aged to a beautiful golden tone.

Please note that this listing is for four chairs.
